In matching spicy sausage with a creamy mustard sauce and fragrant basil, British cookbook author Nigel Slater created a quick pasta supper with warm, mildly spicy flavors, perfect for a cool fall or winter evening.

wine recommendation

The ripe flavors of a soft, round California Merlot, such as the 1999 Markham or the 1999 Benziger, best complement this hearty pasta.

Pasta with Sausage, Basil and Mustard

Very hearty and works great as a one-dish meal. It was so easy to make my husband cooked it! It is easy to vary the flavors by adding different sausages too.

Good, but to make it even better brown 1- 2 minced onions with the sausage and add 1/2-3/4 cups grated Parmesano-Reggiano to pasta with basil.
