A perfect "comfort meal"! The sausage I used was a bit too spicy but I will love to make this again with a milder chicken or turkey variety. A previous reviewer suggested browning onions with the sausage, which was terrific and I used orecchiette instead of shells. We drank a California Sangiovese, "Altamura", Napa Valley 2005 and ate every last bite.

I loved this recipe. I used Bob Evans Italian sausage by weight instead, that way there was no fuse with cases. My leftovers were lost some flavor the next day though.

Very hearty and works great as a one-dish meal. It was so easy to make my husband cooked it! It is easy to vary the flavors by adding different sausages too.

Good, but to make it even better brown 1- 2 minced onions with the sausage and add 1/2-3/4 cups grated Parmesano-Reggiano to pasta with basil.

Fanstic quick and easy dish - goes great with garlicky sauteed broccoli.  This is a frequent request from the bride-to-be...this could quickly become one of your favorite easy entertaining or comfort foods.

This is a wonderful dish and easy to make.  Since I don't like a lot of fresh basil I use fresh parsley instead - it really goes well with the sauce.

This is a very heavy pasta dish.  Quite satisfying.  Just add a litte scrambled eggs, and it would be great for a Sunday brunch.

yum!! this is fast and delicious! I added a bit of grated parm to the top and also left my sausage in the casing but split it lengthwise and then sliced thinly
